Janaki Mandir

This temple is dedicated to Goddess Sita and it is the largest temple in the city. The temple was built at the same place where Goddess Sita was born and that’s why this temple holds so much religious importance among Hindus. Anybody looking to have a slice of the legends of Ramayana must visit this temple.

Ram Mandir

It is one of the oldest temples in Janakpur and is dedicated to Lord Ram. It was built in 1700 by Amar Singh Thapa and the temple has a traditional pagod style architecture similar to the other shrines in the area. During the sacred annual festivals of Ram Navami and Dashain, the temple is inundated with pilgrims from all over the world. For tourists interested in ancient culture, the temple is a must-visit place for them.

Jaleshwar Mahadev Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva. During July and August (Saawan Months), the entire Jalwshwar Municipality is inundated with tourists and locals to offer their prayers to Lord Shiva and his Consort, Parvati. This temple is another sacred pilgrimage site of Janakpur that must be on the bucket list of every tourist.

Vivaha Mandap

This is the same place where Ram and Sita got married and that’s why the Ram Janaki Vivaha Mandap is visited by thousands of tourists every day. On Vivaha Panchami, thousands of tourists flock to this location to pay their homage to Goddess Sita. It is the 5th day of Shukla Paksha when the marriage of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita is celebrated at this location. The entire mandap is made of marble.

Dolakah Bhimsen Mandir

This is one of the rare temples you will find in Nepal as it is dedicated to Lord Bhim or Bhimsen. Bhimsen was the second eldest son among the Pandavas and he had the strength of more than thousands of elephants. The temple has no roof and there is a triangular idol made of stone at the center of the temple. According to the locals, the triangular idol represents three different deities- Lord Bhim, Goddess Bhagwati, and Lord Shiva.

9:00 AM: Complete your breakfast as we will then head towards Pokhara. It will take around 8-9 hours to reach Pokhara as it is 370 km away from Janakpur. Reach your hotel, check in, and take some rest.

10:00 AM: Complete your delicious breakfast and then we will kickstart our half-day sightseeing tour of Pokhara.  Our first spot of the day will be Davis Fall, one of the first places tourists visit whenever they reach Pokhara. Enjoy the visual delights of the waterfall and feel the strong force of water. Just 200 meters away from the waterfall, is the Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave. The artistic formation of the cave looks mesmerizing.

We will then move towards Bindhyabasini Temple, located 7.7 km from Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bindhyabasini a reincarnation of Goddess Kaali. After seeking blessings at the temple, we will get back on the road and head towards our next destination Phewa Lake. The calmness of the lake along with the pleasing landscape will leave you amazed. There is also a temple called Barahi Taal Temple located in the middle of the lake on a small island.

Davis Fall

located just two kilometers from the airport, the stunning waterfall is one of the best places to explore in Pokhara. In the local language, the waterfall is known as ‘Patale Chango’ which means 'underground waterfall'. The waterfall creates a 500-foot-long tunnel at the bottom and therefore, instead of flowing into a river, the water from this waterfall enters into the tunnel and finally disappears in caves.

Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave

A natural cave located near Davis Falls. This is the same place where Seti River emerges from the ground. The temple was discovered around the 16th century and is now dedicated to Lord Shiva. One can also see the self-emerging Shivalinga in the cave that is still in its pristine form.

Bindhyabasini Temple

This is the oldest temple in Pokhara and it enthralles a large number of visitors daily. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bindhyabasini, an incarnation of Goddess Kali. Today, the temple has a lot of religious importance and is considered among the most sacred sites for Hindus in Nepal.

Phewa Lake

When the still lake reflects the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, the landscape leaves you mesmerized. Phewa Lake covers an area of around 4.43 km2 and the average depth of the lake is 8.6 meters. You can also go for a boat ride on the lake and enjoy nature from up close. You can also visit the Barahi Temple located in the middle of the lake on an island.

*The boat ride in Phewa Lake is not included in the package and it is an optional activity. The charge for a boat ride in Pehwa is; ₹500 with a boatman, ₹450, if you paddle yourself. You must rent the lifejacket which will cost only ₹10.
