But the cultural and heritage spots of Kathmandu are just one side of the city as you can also enjoy the most developed city of Nepal with bustling markets inundated with restaurants, cafes, and much more.
Pokhara- Nepal’s most blessed city by nature
Whether you love nature or adventure, Pokhara is not going to disappoint you. After Kathmandu, Pokhara is the second most visited city in Nepal and there is a solid reason for it. Arrival: Land at the Kathmandu airport, complete the documentation and collect your luggage. This can take anywhere around 1 to 1.5 hours. One of our representatives (dedicated to your tour) will meet you at the airport and greet you in the local Nepalese way. He will then take you to the hotel for check in and arrange a short briefing about how the rest of the days will unfold.
* You can enjoy the evening by taking a stroll in the local market and try the local cuisines which are rich and full of flavors.
9:00 AM: Enjoy your delicious breakfast at the hotel and then we will hit the roads in the private cab for a full day of Kathmandu sightseeing. Today, you will get the opportunity to visit the popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After the completion of your sightseeing, you will be escorted back to your hotel.
Pashupatinath Temple
This is Nepal’s oldest and most sacred temple built in the 5th century BCE. The temple has been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is dedicated to God Pashupatinath, the god of animals. According to Hindu belief, the jyotirlinga in the Pashupatinath temple is the head of the body made of 12 jyotirlingas. But keep in mind that only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, and other visitors and watch the temple and the different activities inside the premises. If you are an Indian, you don’t have to pay even a single penny to enter the temple.
Boudhunath Stupa
It is another popular pilgrimage site in Nepal and a sacred place for Buddhists. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, this temple is also known as Khasi Chaitya. The stupa is the main attraction of this destination which is built in the shape of a dome. The stupa is believed to have been made in the 14th century CE by a woman and her son. It is also the largest spherical stupa and is popular among tourists for its gigantic mandala The design of the stupa resembles the Buddhist cosmological tenets.
Swayambhunath Stupa
This spectacular stupa sits atop a beautiful hill known as Semgu Hill and from the top of the hill, you get a panoramic view of the spectacular city of Kathmandu. This stupa is also known as Monkey Temple and is famous for its marvelous architecture. To reach the stupa, you have two options; climb the 365-step stone stairway or drive to the top of the hill. It is believed that the stupa has evolved in the past 2,000 years. It was built by King King Manadeva and soon it became an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
Kathmandu Durbar Square
It is the heart of the city that houses around 50 temples. The Durbar is divided into two sections the outer Shiva-Parvati Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar, and the inner Hanuman Dhoka and the main palace. The entire architecture of the Durbar is breathtaking. The traditional heart of the city once used to be the King’s ruling spot and the kings were crowned at the same Durbar Square.
9:30 AM: Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then you will be escorted to Kathmandu Airport to catch the flight to Pokhara. Upong landing, our representative will receive you and transfer you to the hotel for check in.
1:30 PM: After taking some rest at the hotel, your private cab will arrive at the hotel’s gate and take you for a half-day of Pokhara sightseeing. Our first stop will be the Pumdikot Shiva Statue. Enjoy the serenity and seek blessing at the temple. Our next destination will be the famous World Peace Pagoda. The pagoda is located 3.7 km from Pumdikot Shiva Statue and it will take around 10-15 minutes to reach the World Peace Pagoda. During the return trip to the hotel, you can enjoy the lakeside view and shop in the market.
Pumdikot Shiva Statue
The Pumdikot Shiva Statue stands as a strong symbol of religious significance and it attracts both pilgrims and tourists because of its religious importance and architectural marvel. It was built in 2021 and the location of the statue gives you a panoramic view of both the Pokhara Valley and the Annapurna mountain range. So apart from spiritual awakening, this site offers visual delights as well.
World Peace Pagoda
This is 2 of the 70 peace pagodas in the world and it was built by a Japenese as a center of peace. The relics of Gautam Buddha have been engraved on the foundation stone and even at the top of the pagoda.
5:00 AM: Wake up early on the 4th day to witness the magic of nature; Sangarkot Sunrise. The sunrise through the sky-touching mountain peaks is a mesmerizing view that you will never wish to miss. The sky gets painted, the mountains begin to shine and everything comes to life with the rise of the sun. Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise, take some memorable pictures, and then return to the hotel for breakfast.
10:00 AM: After breakfast, we will have a half-day sightseeing tour of Pokhara. In between the breakfast and the half-day tour, you will have some leisure time that you can either spend in the hotel or take a walk on the serene roads of Pokhara. Our half-day tour will begin with Davis Fall, the most highlighted spot of Pokhara that is always on the top of the list of places to visit in Pokhara. Enjoy the mystical waterfall and then within some steps, we will reach at the Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave. The artistic formation of the cave looks mesmerizing.
We will then head towards Bindhyabasini Temple, located 7.7 km from Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave. The Bidhyabasini Temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. After seeking blessings at the temple, we will get back on the road and head towards our next destination Phewa Lake. A serene lake that offers peace of mind. Our last destination of the day will be Barahi Temple where we will attend the evening aarti and then head back to the hotel.
Davis Fall
A magical waterfall where the water falling from the top, disappears in the tunnel after hitting the bottom. It looks like the water vanishes after hitting the ground and this looks nothing less than a magic. The fall was named after a woman who fell and died in the waterfall but because of pronunciation issues, the fall became Devi’s Fall for many people.
Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave
Located on the other side of Davis Falls. This cave has a religious significance as it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and just after walking for 40-50 meters in the cave, you will see a beautiful statue of Lord Shiva. This is the main reason why many people take their shoes off while entering the temple. The cave is also known as Bhalu Dulo in the local tongue.
Bindhyabasini Temple
It is the oldest temple in Pokhara, built-in 1842 B.S. The temple was built by the king of Kaski, Siddhi Narayan Malla when he had a dream about building a temple at this location. He then sent his workers to Uttar Pradesh to bring a statue of the goddess and that’s how the legends of the temple go. The temple is now a vital religious hub for Hindus.
Phewa Lake
When the still lake reflects the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, the landscape leaves you speechless. Phewa Lake covers an area of around 4.43 km2 and the average depth of the lake is 8.6 meters. You can also go for a boat ride on the lake and enjoy nature from up close.
Barahi Temple
This temple is located on a small island in Phewa Lake and is popular for its evening aarti. The temple was built in 1416 and is also known as ‘Lake Temple’ because of its location.
9:00 AM: After your breakfast at the hotel, our representative will take you to the Pokhara Airport to catch the flight from Pokhara to Bharatpur. Upon landing, you will be taken to your resort in Chitwan National Park which will take almost 1 hour. Upon reaching the resort, simply check-in and enjoy your lunch.
3:00 PM: We will explore both the Village tour and the Sunset view from the Rapti river bank. Later in the evening Tharu cultural program will be organized at your resort.
7:00 AM: We will begin the day a bit early for a half-day Jungle Safari. So have your breakfast and begin your jungle safari that will last for at least 3-4 hours. Then return back to your resort for lunch.
3:00 PM: After lunch, participate in different national park activities like visiting crocodile breeding centers, Jungle walk, and canoe ride. You will see different kinds of crocodiles and birds during the canoe ride.
9:30 AM: Have your fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, drive to Bharatpur airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel or you can directly go for sightseeing from the airport.
12:30 PM: After some rest, head towards the Chandragiri Hills by cable car. After sightseeing, get back to your hotel and rest. You will have leisure time in the evening to visit casinos, bars, cafes, and nearby markets.
*The cable car ticket is not included in the package and you will have to buy it on your own.
Departure: This will be your final day in Nepal. After your delicious breakfast, our representative will take you to the airport, 3 hours before the arrival of your flight. He will then bid you farewell and wish you a happy journey.
